About the Fuel & Hydro Mechanical Systems Section

The main functions of the Fuel & Hydro Mechanical Systems Section consist of:

• initial type certification of domestic products and subsequent support to the Companies in obtaining foreign type certification;

• certification of foreign products for use in Canada;

• participation in the development of standards, policy and guidance material for the Transport Canada National Aircraft Certification activities;

• support to the Transport Canada regional organizations in their activities including Supplemental Type Certification;

• participation in Canadian Aviation Regulation Advisory Council (CARAC), international and national working groups and committees including harmonization forums; and

• general support to the Engineering Division and National Aircraft Certification Branch as required on such tasks as delegation to industry and audits.
