12. Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELTs)
(a) Except where powered by water activated batteries, the ELT shall be checked at intervals not exceeding 12 months, in accordance with Appendix G of Chapter 571 of the Airworthiness Manual.
(b) ELTs powered by water activated batteries shall be performance-tested at intervals not exceeding 5 years.
(c) ELT batteries shall be replaced at the interval recommended by the ELT manufacturer.
