The Aviation Safety Letter (ASL) is published quarterly by Transport Canada, Civil Aviation.
It is distributed to all holders of a valid Canadian pilot licence or permit, and to all holders of a valid Canadian aircraft maintenance engineer (AME) licence. It is also distributed to national and international organizations and other interested parties.
The ASL includes articles that address aviation safety from all perspectives, such as safety insight derived from accidents and incidents, information tailored to the needs of maintenance and servicing personnel and Safety Maintainer, the Aviation Safety Vortex and the Aviation Safety Ultralight and Balloon newsletters.
Aviation Safety Maintainer: Information previously published in the Aviation Safety Maintainer can now be found in the Aviation Safety Letter (starting in issue 3/2005). Back issues of the Aviation Safety Maintainer are still available on the Web.
Aviation Safety Ultralight and Balloon: Information previously published in the Aviation Safety Ultralight & Balloon can now be found in the Aviation Safety Letter (starting in issue 3/2005). A special section to address recreational aviation topics can also be found in issues 1/2003 to 1/2005 of the Aviation Safety Letter. Back issues of the Aviation Safety Ultralight & Balloon are still available on the Web.
Aviation Safety Vortex: Information tailored to the needs of the helicopter community can now be found in the Aviation Safety Letter (starting in issue 3/2005). Back issues of the Aviation Safety Vortex are still available on the Web.
