Re:
Change to Section 12 of the Air Cargo Security Minimum Security Standards

RE: Section 12: Cargo Storage Procedures - Access Control

Please note that all participants in Transport Canada's Air Cargo Security Initiative, including Regulated Agents and Air Carriers, are no longer required to record and keep the serial number of visitors' identification cards.

All visitors to operators' facilities, including service personnel, government inspectors, etc., who are under the direct supervision and control of an Authorized Cargo Representative (ACR), are still required to provide a valid piece of government or company-issued photo identification. Operators must verify and record the type of photo identification shown and keep this information for a period of at least ninety (90) days.

This change is valid for the duration of the pilot program. The requirement for recording identification card serial numbers may be necessary when regulations are implemented.
