Air Cargo Security Information Bulletin #8-ACS(FF)

Freight forwarder response to the launch of the Secure Supply Chain Management System (SSCMS) on June 2, 2008 has been very positive. To date, over 300 Canadian freight forwarder sites have registered to become Regulated Agents via the SSCMS.
In moving forward with the Air Cargo Security Initiative, Transport Canada will be evaluating SSCMS performance in order to tailor future system versions to best suit the needs of Regulated Agents.
With this in mind, Regulated Agents are kindly reminded that a shipper validation is required via the SSCMS for each shipment a Regulated Agent receives. This requirement exists even if a shipper is "known" to a Regulated Agent.
