Re:
Launch of the Security Plan Generator Pilot Program

The Security Plan Generator pilot program will provide freight forwarders participating in the Air Cargo Security Initiative an opportunity to complete their Air Cargo Security Plans.

The Security Plan Generator provides a simple, user-friendly template, which can be effortlessly completed, reviewed and updated. Users are guided through the template with interactive help screens and are advised when mandatory questions are incomplete or do not meet Transport Canada's minimum standards for program participation.

To apply to participate in the pilot, please complete the Security Plan Generator application form, which can be found in the Information Centre of the SSCMS. The application form must be submitted to Transport Canada by December 12, 2008. Copies of the application form can also be obtained from the SSCMS Support Centre.

Benefits of Using the Security Plan Generator

The Security Plan Generator will:

  • Provide you with an expedited process for creating an Air Cargo Security Plan, submitting the plan to Transport Canada, and receiving feedback.
  • Ensure that your Air Cargo Security Plan meets Transport Canada's Minimum Air Cargo Security Standards.
  • Enable you to submit an Air Cargo Security Plan prior to the cut-off date that has been defined by Transport Canada (for more information on this cut-off date, please refer to Air Cargo Security Information Bulletin # 10).

Please note that Transport Canada can only accept a limited number of participants in the Security Plan Generator Pilot Program.

Should you require any further information regarding participation in Transport Canada's Security Plan Generator Pilot Program, please contact the SSCMS Support Centre by e-mail at: support-soutien@securesupplychain.ca or by phone at 1-866-272-9163.
