This page provides access to Civil Aviation Directives (CAD), Staff Instructions (SI) and Supplementary Staff Instructions (SSI) published on or after February 2, 2007.

Document numbers now follow an approach similar to the numbering structure of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) Parts and Standards, which should permit people to more easily find advisory and internal procedural information on a given topic. Documents are available in HTML and PDF formats.

Example: If you are searching for internal procedural information on flight crew licensing related to Canadian Aviation Regulation (CAR) 401, then you should be able to find that information on the “IMS” web page under “Series” 401

Document Series

Documents that relate to a Part or Standard of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) will be found in the equivalent numerical series.

Example: Internal procedural information on flight crew licensing related to CAR 401 will be found in the 400 Series.

Documents that do not relate to the CARs will be found in one of the generic series.

Example: An Advisory Circular on flight crew licensing related to CAR 401 will be found in the 400 Series.
