Aerodrome Incident Reporting System
Purpose
The purpose of this Advisory Circular is to make aerodrome operators aware of the Civil Aviation Daily Occurrence Reporting System (CADORS) and to seek the cooperation of all aerodrome operators to report the details of any incident according to the procedures set out in this circular.
Background
The CADORS system was established to assist Transport Canada in the early identification of potential hazards and system deficiencies, and to assist in the assessment of associated hazards. While this system is primarily used in connection with aircraft incidents, it also identifies reportable information related to aerodrome incidents.
Advisory Information
The reporting of information under the CADORS system is not a regulated requirement. However, Transport Canada encourages the cooperation of all aerodrome operators in reporting events to the Aviation Operations Center. This information will assist Transport Canada in responding to events that may have safety implications to all aerodrome operators, or affect the National Civil Aviation Transportation System.
All aerodrome operators are requested to report aerodrome related incident information in one of two ways according to the following criteria.
- incidents which are considered to be critical and high-profile as stated in Annex A should be reported immediately via telephone (24 hours per day, 7 days a week) to the Aviation Operations Center at (613) 992-6853.
- all other incidents which are described in Annex B, should be reported using the Aviation Incident Report form.
