The intention of this Reference Materials section is to make available a list of useful publications, documents and reports on noise and noise management. The section will be expanded on an on-going basis.
Land Use in the Vicinity of Airports (TP 1247E) - This publication describes the operational characteristics of airports which may influence land uses outside the airport property boudary and recommends, where applicable, guidelines for land use in the vicinity of airports.
Estimated Airplane Noise Levels in A-Weighted Decibels (AC 36-3G) - This United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circular (AC) provides listings of estimated airplane noise levels in until of A-weighted sound level decibels (dBA), ranked in descending order for the conditions and assumptions described in the AC. This information is provided both for aircraft that have been noise type certificated under 14 CFR Part 36, and for aircraft for which no such requirement currently exists. FAA Advisory Circular 36-3G is available on the FAA Web site.
Noise Levels for U.S. Certified and Foreign Aircraft (AC 36-1G) - This United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circular (AC) provides noise level data for aircraft certificated under 14 CFR Part 36. Noise level data for foreign aircraft certificated to ICAO Annex 16 standards are also provided in a separate appendix for informational purposes. FAA Advisory Circular 36-1G is available on the FAA Web site.
