Each air operator (airline) establishes it's own specific hiring criteria, policies and requirements, therefore, contacting these air operators individually is the best way to seek employment information and find out about any specific hiring qualifications.
The Canadian Aviation Regulations require every large air operator that has passenger carrying authority to establish and maintain a flight attendant training program, which is approved by Transport Canada.
An individual who wishes to become a flight attendant must be employed by an air operator. Once employed, the individual is trained in accordance with, and must successfully complete, the air operator's approved training program.
Any individual who has completed flight attendant training offered by an outside organization or vocational school is still required to complete the air operator's approved training program in order to be a qualified flight attendant with that particular air operator.
