AVIATION ADVISORY CIRCULAR
Revised Airborne Icing Training Guidance Material
The purpose of this Commercial & Business Aviation Advisory Circular (CBAAC) is to inform recipients of revisions to the Airborne Icing Training Guidance Material.
CBAAC 130 dated 14.08.97 informed air operators of the new requirement to include training for operations in airborne icing conditions in their approved training programs. Guidance material to assist operators in meeting the requirements was attached to the CBAAC. This guidance material has now been revised to include new information resulting from the investigations of recent accidents in the US, in which airborne icing was a contributing factor.
The revised guidance material is included herewith. Air operators must amend their training programs to include the new information prior to October 1, 1999.
Operators should discuss any question regarding inclusion of the revised guidance material to their training program with their Principal Operations Inspector.
Commercial & Business Aviation
Commercial & Business Aviation Advisory Circulars (CBAAC) are intended to provide information and guidance regarding operational matters. A CBAAC may describe an acceptable, but not the only, means of demonstrating compliance with existing regulations. CBAACs in and of themselves do not change, create any additional, authorize changes in, or permit deviations from regulatory requirements.
