2.16. Repositioning using Aircraft Engines

[Use the applicable text for either aeroplane or helicopter.]

  1. [Aeroplanes] For repositioning of an aeroplane using one or more of its engines, the checks in the following paragraphs shall be carried out. Even though it may not be necessary to start all of the engines to taxi the aircraft, all of the checks shall be carried out. It is recognized that not all of the items will need action. However, to reduce the risk of missing an important item, all of the checks listed are to be completed.
    1. Before Start Check;
    2. Engine Start Check;
    3. Before Taxi Check;
    4. After Landing Check;
    5. Shutdown Check.
  2. [Helicopter] For repositioning where the helicopter will not lift off, the checks in the following paragraphs shall be carried out. Even though it may not be necessary to start all of the power plants to taxi the aircraft, all of the checks shall be carried out. It is recognized that not all of the items will need action. However, to reduce the risk of missing an important item, all of the checks listed are to be completed.
    1. Before Start Check;
    2. Engine Start Check;
    3. Before Taxi Check;
    4. After Landing Check;
    5. Shutdown Check.
  3. [Helicopter] For repositioning where the helicopter will lift off, the checks in the following paragraphs shall be carried out. It is recognized that not all of the items will need action. However, to reduce the risk of missing an important item, all of the checks listed are to be completed.
    1. Before Start Check;
    2. Engine Start Check;
    3. Before Taxi Check;
    4. Before Take-off check;
    5. After Landing Check;
    6. Shutdown Check.
