The Aircraft Registration and Leasing Division is part of the General Aviation Branch of Civil Aviation. The Headquarters' Division is responsible for two core programs:
One of the key responsibilities of divisional staff is to develop national policies and standards, and to provide functional advice on registration and leasing issues to regional staff who administer these activities in a practical sense on a daily basis. The Division is also responsible for maintaining the Canadian Civil Aircraft Register (approximately 29,000 aircraft). This is achieved through direct input, as well as the audit of regional data. The register is available through direct search capability on the World Wide Web.
