Listing of Models Eligible to be Registered as Advanced Ultra-Light Aeroplanes (AULA)
An advanced ultra-light aeroplane is defined as an aeroplane that has a type design that is in compliance with the standards specified in the manual entitled Design Standards for Advanced Ultra-light Aeroplanes. An advanced ultra-light aeroplane does not include powered parachute aircraft, trikes or powered gliders.
Manufacturers are required to notify the Recreational Aviation& Special Flight Operations Division of any changes to the information on the list.
Owners of advanced ultra-light aeroplanes are responsible for maintaining the aeroplane in a “fit for flight” condition by adhering to the Manufacturer Specified Maintenance Program and for completing the manufacturer’s Mandatory Actions in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and time frame. While manufacturers are obliged to notify owners of Mandatory Actions, at times manufacturers may identify a need for corrective action that does not result in the issuance of a Mandatory Action. Owners are reminded that they are responsible for staying current on manufacturer recommended procedures affecting their aeroplane model.
