An airline transport pilot operating a Beech 1900 aircraft failed to make a maintenance entry in the journey logbook after damage was sustained to the aircraft. The pilot subsequently departed in the aircraft with an invalid flight authority. The pilot was sanctioned with a monetary penalty totalling $1,750.00.

A recreational pilot who owned and operated a Piper PA-12 Super Cruiser on floats flipped over while attempting to land on glassy water.  The pilot was not injured however, the aircraft sustained major damage. During the investigation that followed, it was established that the Annual Airworthiness Information Report (AAIR) for the aircraft was not submitted to the Minister on time. The owner was sanctioned with a $250.00 monetary penalty.

A commercial pilot operating a Piper PA-23 Aztec aircraft with a passenger on-board conducted aerobatic manoeuvres and in so doing, exceeded the operating limits of the aircraft. The pilot was sanctioned with a monetary penalty totalling $1,500.00.

1 year prohibition

An airline transport pilot candidate writing the airline transport pilot examination at a Transport Canada Examination Center was caught cheating. This action resulted in the individual receiving a failure status for the exam and is prohibited from writing any Transport Canada examinations for a period of one year.
