Comments on variance: Transport Canada successfully divested seven ports. This was three more than originally projected for the last year of funding under the Port Divestiture Program, and as a result, additional contribution funds were expended.

Engagement of applicants and recipients: Transport Canada engages potential interested parties through public meetings, newspaper notices, and targeted calls for proposals; provides information on service standards and reporting requirements; participates in dialogue and negotiations with potential interested parties; and maintains ongoing relationships with recipients consistent with the related contribution agreements.
