Mrs. Marie-Lucie Morin served as Executive Director for Canada, Ireland and the Caribbean at the World Bank from 2010 to December 2013. Before joining the World Bank Mrs Morin pursued a 30 year career in the Federal Public Service during which she acquired extensive policy, management and communications experience.
Mrs. Morin was appointed National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister and Associate Secretary to the Cabinet in November 2008; from 2006 to 2008 she served as Deputy Minister of International Trade and from 2003 to 2006 as Associate Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. During the earlier years of her career with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Mrs. Morin completed assignments in San Francisco, Jakarta, London and Moscow. In 1997, she was appointed Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Iceland, a position she held until 2001.
Mrs. Morin was awarded the Governor General’s 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada Medal. In 2011, she received the Association of Professional Executives of the Public Service of Canada’s (APEX) Global Public Servant Award. Mrs. Morin was named Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 2012. Mrs Morin has served on a number of boards and advisory committees, and is currently a member of the Board of Génome Québec.
Mrs. Morin, a lawyer by training, is a graduate of the Université de Sherbrooke. She is married to Nicolas Temnikov; they have a daughter and three sons.
