Air Projects

TDC’s air transportation program is designed to improve the safety, efficiency, and competitiveness of Canadian aviation. It focusses on:

  • work in support of federal policy decisions
  • cooperative activities to ensure harmonization of international aviation R&D
  • studies to provide a basis for the development of regulations and standards for crew training and operations, as well as for materials and equipment
  • development of innovative technologies, equipment, and research expertise in advanced concepts and meteorology
  • development of technological means to improve accident prevention and survivability
  • investigation of operations in Canada’s severe winter conditions
  • development of improvements to airport operations, from runway management to advanced air navigation systems
  • studies of human factors in all areas of aviation
