Subject: Marine Abandonment Immersion Suits Zipper Faults
This Bulletin replaces Bulletin No. 02/1986.
- A number of immersion suits fitted with TALON zippers remain in service on Canadian ships.
- These suits were mostly manufactured prior to 1984. The TALON zippers can be identified by the word "TALON" embossed on the zipper slide mechanism.
- TALON zippers are subject to sudden, unforeseeable failure.
- All immersion suits fitted with TALON zippers must be immediately returned to the manufacturer or his accredited agent to have the zipper replaced.
