Canadian Marine Advisory Council (CMAC) National Meeting
Call for Potential Agenda Items

The upcoming Canadian Marine Advisory Council National Meeting will take place in Ottawa at the Government Conference Centre located at 2 Rideau Street. The meeting will commence with Opening Plenary at 09:30 hours on Monday, April 27, 2009 and conclude at 16:00 hours on Thursday, April 30, 2009 with Closing Plenary.

Submission of Agenda Items

You are invited to submit potential agendaitems for the upcoming meeting. The deadline for submission is April 10, 2009. If there is insufficient time for all the agenda items submitted, the items might be deferred to the next CMAC meeting. Please note that all items placed on the agenda should be accompanied by either a background or reference document addressing the proposed agenda item.

A copy of the Submission Form has been enclosed for your convenience. This form is also available on-line from the CMAC site (www.cmac-ccmc.gc.ca). Submissions may be faxed to the attention of the CMAC Secretariat (613-991-5670) or mailed (address indicated on the form). Alternatively, agenda items may be submitted electronically by e-mail (cmac-ccmc@tc.gc.ca). Please ensure that your electronic submission includes the following information:

• Title of issue.
• Background explanation.
• Your concern with respect to this issue.
• Does the issue pertain to a particular Standing Committee?
• Does this issue have national significance or is it more regional in nature?
• Has the issue been discussed at the regional level?

Dissemination of Meeting Schedule & Agendas

The draft meeting schedule and Standing Committee draft agendas will be posted on the CMAC Web site and will be updated periodically until they are approved.

The draft agendas include tentative items from the previous (November 2008) National CMAC Meeting. We encourage you to visit CMAC on-line (www.cmac‑ccmc.gc.ca) for updates on the progress/development of the national agendas and schedule.

Pre-registration

For your convenience, we have included the pre-registration form for the meeting. Please note that pre-registration is beneficial to the Secretariat for logistical reasons. This form is also available on the CMAC site (www.cmac-ccmc.gc.ca).
