Foreword
This publication supersedes the 4th Edition of the "Routing Standards - 1986".
The following standards are based on the International Maritime Organization (IMO), "General Provisions on Ships' Routing", 14 November 1977, as amended from time to time.
PART I contains information on Canadian Coast Guard policy for the introduction of Canadian routing systems. PART II contains the IMO provisions modified where necessary to reflect Canadian requirements. Canadian text in PART II is underlined1. The position fixing accuracies shown in the ANNEX to PART II are generally based on the performance standards for the relative shipborne equipment described in IMO recommendations.
