Issue:
Britax Safety Inc. and Transport Canada wish to inform the public of an error in the French instruction manual provided with the Marathon infant/child seat produced between October 22, 2003 and January 12, 2007, inclusively. The date of manufacture can be found on a label located on the seat. The instruction manual provided with the seat is assigned part number P230300, revision numbers R1: 09/03 through R4: 02/05. The part number is located at the bottom of the Table of Contents page.
Pages 18 through 20 of the French version of the instruction manual refer to the installation of the infant/child seat for the forward/facing mode. However, the instructions provided are actually for the rear-facing mode. The English version of the manual is correct.
The instruction manual has been revised and the problem corrected.
Britax Safety Inc. and Transport Canada wish to inform all parents and caregivers of the error so as to eliminate any possibility of confusion when following the installation instructions.
