The map below is titled Schedule ‘A’ Plan Showing Pickering Airport Site Zoning Regulations dated July 2002. The map is colour coded and depicts the obstacle limitation surfaces and the municipalities affected by the regulations. The obstacle limitation surfaces are described in detail in the text of the regulations and are depicted on this map using different colours: blue for the approach surfaces; pink for the transitional surfaces; yellow for the outer surface; and green for the runway strips. The federal Pickering Lands are depicted in white.
Several spot elevations are depicted on the map showing the approximate allowable height at that location in order to provide landowners with an idea of height restrictions affecting their lands.
The affected municipalities are also depicted on the map and include: the Town of Ajax; the Town of Markham; the City of Pickering; the Township of Scugog; the Township of Uxbridge; the Town of Whitby; and the Town of Whitchurch-Stoufville. Municipal and Regional boundaries are also shown including major roads.
The map was produced by Public Works and Government Services Canada on behalf of Transport Canada to aid in the consultation process with the municipalities and landowners.
The actual maps that are incorporated by reference by the Pickering Airport Site Zoning Regulations are available in eleven by seventeen inch, spiral-bound, and laminated books. These books were deposited in the two Regional Land Registry Offices in September 2005. They are available for viewing in the Land Registry Office located in York Region at 50 Bloomington Road West, Aurora, and in the Land Registry Office located in Durham Region at 590 Rossland Road East, Whitby.
