The Coordination and Policy Branch provides both Transport Canada Headquarters and the Ontario Region with regional monitoring, analysis and advice on transportation and infrastructure issues in support of the department's strategic priorities, policies, programs and legislative agenda as they relate to Ontario. The Branch is responsible for developing and maintaining working relationships with regional stakeholders in all modes of transportation and at all levels of government.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Coordination and Policy Branch also generates regional economic and transportation overviews and more specific sectoral reports. Branch staff also participate in key initiatives relating to the Canada-U.S. border, Ontario-Quebec Continental Gateways and Trade Corridor, and regional transit and goods movement initiatives that develop effective transportation policy to improve, sustain and grow a safe and secure transportation system.
