Updated 2010 Winter Games Marine Information

The Government of Canada planners are working hard to ensure the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games are safe and secure. They are also working to minimize impacts to the local maritime community.

If you plan to operate a vessel during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games period in or near the waters of the four areas identified to the right, please be aware that special security measures will be in effect. The marine security measures will be in place between mid-January and the end of March, 2010. They are designed to protect and safeguard athletes, spectators, and general public participating in the 2010 Winter Games.

In the four areas shown below, marine security personnel will be monitoring all maritime activities. Vessels that seem to be operating unusually or that are non-compliant will be closely scrutinized by security authorities in these areas.
