Aerodromes and Air Navigation Services

 The following services are available from Richmond and Vancouver:
  • Conduct airport and aerodrome inspections and audits
  • Assess safety of airport operations and zoning
  • Review and approve Airport Operations Manuals
  • Issue Airport Certificates
  • Assess obstacles such as antennas, towers, cable crossings, and buildings, against marking and lighting standards
  • Assess and develop noise abatement procedures
  • Provide an Aeronautical Information Service and NOTAMS relating to all aerodromes
  • Inspect and review airport emergency response capability
  • Assist the aviation community to understand regulatory and safety requirements relating to aerodromes
  • Conduct Audits and Inspections to verify compliance with provision of CARs, Part VIII
  • Conduct Mandatory Frequency Inspections
  • Conduct Risk assessments
  • Conduct Aeronautical Studies
  • Provide regulatory advise
  • Issue NOTAMS regarding special use airspace and closures
  • Define and recommend airspace changes
  • Maintain close liaison NAV CANADA and other service providers
  • Follow up Aviation occurrences
  • Monitor and evaluate ANS level of service in the Pacific Region
  • Participate in special investigations
  • Conduct Audits on automatic weather systems
