General Aviation Services

air.jpg The following services are available from all offices (Abbotsford, Kelowna, Richmond, Prince George, Vancouver, and Victoria):
  • Provide information on aircraft registration
  • Accept applications for aircraft registration
  • Accept applications for flight crew and Air Traffic Controller licenses and ratings
  • Accept applications for validation of foreign pilot licenses
  • Reissue documents which have been lost or stolen
  • Administer non-recreational flight crew written examinations and provide official marks
  • Accept payment of licensing fees
  • Provide Study and Reference Guides and Flight Test Guides
  • Provide lists of flight training units, medical examiners, and Authorized Persons and Authorized Examination Invigilators
  • Provide temporary and permanent licenses, permits and foreign license validation certificates
  • Review and approve applications for licenses, permits and validations
  • Appoint Authorized Persons to issue temporary license privileges
  • Provide advice for Authorized Persons who issue temporary license privileges
  • Respond to public inquiries concerning general aviation activities
  • Register aircraft
  • Issue extensions of privileges to qualified applicants
  • Appoint Aviation Language Examiners to assess proficiency for license language rating
  • Appoint Authorized Examination Invigilators to administer recreational-type written examinations
  • Provide information from licensing and medical files for license holders who request a Transportation Appeal Tribunal review hearing
  • Monitor recreational aviation
  • Authorize special aviation events (balloons, parachuting, airshows, rocket launches and unmanned aerial vehicles)
