SCL CANADA Green Shipping Checklist

Supply Chain & Logistics Association Canada, in collaboration with Transport Canada’s ecofreight program, has made available a series of checklists outlining practices and technologies that can be adopted by companies to improve their competitiveness and lower their environmental footprint through greater efficiencies in goods movement. The checklists have been designed to apply specifically to manufacturers, retailers, logistics and transportation management companies (3PLs), and carriers involved in decisions related to goods movement. Industry Success Stories

Two new Industry Success Stories are now available on Transport Canada’s ecofreight website. The businesses profiled are Southern Railway of British Columbia (SRY) regarding the new Annacis Rail Marine Terminal and Canadian Tire with details on their Transloading Facilities.

Other Transport Canada resources will be available in the upcoming months including ecofreight project results in our Case Study section and new Truck Technology Fact Sheets from FP Innovation. Stay tuned.

Successful ecofreight webinars

Two freight webinars were offered earlier this spring. One was on the Results from the ecofreight Incentive and Demonstration projects (on March 16) and the other was on Intermodal Freight Initiatives in Canada Webinar (on March 22). We wish to thank the speakers again for their support and informative presentations. If you could not attend, powerpoints and audio of the presentations are now available.

Transport Canada will have another webinar in the fall providing information on the Results of the ecoFREIGHT programs. Our proponents are eager to share what they have learned!
