Truck Technology Fact Sheets

Important obstacles stand against the adoption of innovative technologies, of which one of the most important is the lack of practical information coming from independent sources. The objective of these fact sheets is to inform those in the trucking industry about new and emerging advanced technologies that have been tested through the Energotest program (run by FPInnovations), which can help increase fuel efficiency and, at the same time, reduce the environmental impact of freight transportation in Canada.

Emissions Calculators

The Emission Calculators are tools that enable you to determine potential fuel and monetary savings as well as determine the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and payback from investments for the technologies bellow. The User Guide explains the information to be entered in the calculator with helpful tips.

Video: Cascades

Cascades Transport, a Canadian company that operates in Quebec, Ontario, the Atlantic provinces and the northeastern United States, received a contribution towards the purchase and installation of 250 aerodynamic skirts for their trailers. These add-ons help redirect the air away from under the trailer, improving aerodynamic efficiency and reducing fuel consumption. The results were so impressive that Cascade is installing aerodynamic skirts on the remainder of its fleet now. a quick overview of each technology.

Check out the Shippers section for, success stories, a link to our webinars, a green transportation checklist and awards about this mode and others.
