Most cars and trucks today run on gasoline or diesel. They produce about 12% of Canada’s total greenhouse gas emissions each year. So we need to look for ways to make cars and trucks use less fuel a pollute less.
Electric vehicles (EV) – hybrid, plug-in hybrid electric and fully battery electric – are a step in the right direction. Unlike gasoline or diesel cars, they produce no emissions or pollutants when operating on electricity.
