Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) typically integrate an
internal combustion engine (ICE), an electric motor, a generator and a battery pack. The arrangement and integration of these components can be varied to maximize performance and efficiency and reduce
emissions levels.
Engines and battery packs in
hybrid vehicles can be arranged to operate in parallel, series or series-parallel.
