The Biodiesel Project

The Environmental Youth Alliance (EYA) is a non-profit organization that works for social and environmental sustainability through hands-on, youth-driven projects that directly benefit communities. Previous initiatives include rooftop gardening, alternative energy products, climate change education and educational resource development among others.

What are they doing?

This project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 85,000 kg and smog precursors by approximately half a tonne. A non-profit venture will supply 39,000 litres of biodiesel, an alternative to diesel fuel, to interested customers in the Vancouver area. Ultimately, the EYA hopes to educate a committed base of biodiesel users to support a commercial-scale non-profit biodiesel facility in the Vancouver area.

What did the project accomplish?

Results will be posted upon receipt of a final report.
