Nature-Action Québec Inc.

Nature-Action Québec Inc. promotes the environment through concrete actions that benefit the community. In particular, it seeks to advocate and implement new ways of doing things that will ensure a healthy and sustainable environment for the future.

What are they doing?

An awareness campaign is being developed for snowmobilers to:

  • Educate them on the effects that snowmobile use has on air quality, and especially on climate change.
  • Promote maintenance of two-stroke engines with a view to reducing emissions of greenhouse gases.
  • Encourage snowmobile clubs to undertake tree planting activities.
  • Develop educational materials such as posters, brochures and magazine articles that deal with the impact of snowmobiles and individual actions that can offset such impacts.
  • Work in partnership with individual snowmobile clubs and the FCMQ (Fedération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec) to expand the campaign.

Status

Project to be completed by end of October 31, 2001.
