Canadian School Travel Plans - Phase One (Research and Development)

Parents today are increasingly concerned about the safety of their children, often opting for a drive of a few blocks rather than risking calamity by allowing children to walk or cycle to school. The objective of this project is to create a cohesive national framework to not only encourage safer and sustainable travel to school but to also work with local decision-makers to create the much needed infrastructure and enforcement required to allow safer and more accessible travel for children in their communities.  details

Planning Active Transportation Communities

Go for Green is conducting transportation education/planning sessions in communities in targeted provinces/territories. The Planning Active Transportation Communities project will promote the improvement of the local environment and increase in physical activity among Canadian residents by engaging communities in a process to evaluate and improve their Active Transportation environment. details

Transit City

TEA's Transit City proposal focuses on engaging the public through collaboration with residents in neighbourhoods that currently have unreliable or inadequate transit service. The collaboration is to encourage discussions on how to design a local transit growth plan that will support specific transit initiatives that lead to a Transit City.  details

L'école - j'y roule: "vélo saint-lo' Activities

Through the work of the young people who are participating in the social and job integration program, Carrefour jeunesse emploi Saint-Laurent will organize major awareness days with the local secondary school as well as with the two CEGEPs in Saint-Laurent. The goal of this event is to promote cycling and to introduce new bike promotion programs by students in each participating institution.  details
