Travel Tune-Ups

EnviroCentre is a non-profit organization of public, private and voluntary sectors which focuses on concrete steps to improve energy efficiency in measurable ways.

What are they doing?

EnviroCentre will integrate Travel Tune-Ups with its Green Home Tune-Ups program that helps residents understand energy efficiency in the home. Travel Tune-Ups will provide participants practical information and tools on alternative transportation. In the context of this project EnviroCentre will:

  • research community-based approaches to transportation demand management to help build experience within the local community and strengthen partnerships on TDM;
  • develop TDM packages that highlight transit, bicycle lanes, car tune-up guides, fuel consumption guides and carpool information;
  • implement social marketing to raise awareness and increase public education; and,
  • promote the Active and Safe Routes to School Program.

Status

To be completed by March 31, 2002.
