Preliminary Evaluation Plan for a Sustainable Transportation System at the Vancouver Island Technology Park (VITP)
The Vancouver Island Advanced Technology Centre (VIATeC) is a non-profit society for advanced technology industries on Vancouver Island.
What are they doing?
VIATeC will conduct a comprehensive study for a Preliminary Evaluation Plan for a sustainable transportation system. Recommendations from the Plan will then be the basis for a Sustainable Transportation Master Plan for the Vancouver Island Technology Park. The Preliminary Evaluation Plan will consist of:
- a comprehensive evaluation of existing transportation trends, patterns, infrastructure, initiatives, tools and practices;
- developing consensus on the target end products of the master plan through a facilitated workshop with partner organizations;
- making recommendations for action, implementation and monitoring of the Sustainable Transportation master plan encompassing the VITP, Camosun College, the HCP and Layritz Park; and,
- key findings from the Preliminary Evaluation Plan will also be used to educate the public on key transportation issues in the Greater Victoria area, and identify opportunities for community involvement and support in this and other sustainable transportation initiatives.
