The Civil Aviation Directorate is responsible for monitoring aviation safety in the Quebec Region. This is its top priority and reason for existence. The Directorate is also responsible for issuing licences, conducting inspections, enforcing regulations and certifying all civil aeronautics activities. In addition, it is responsible for assessing the safety of the air transport system and conducting air safety awareness activities.
