TP 14335E - Winter Navigation

Seafarers that are not familiar with vessels operating in icy conditions may not fully appreciate the risks involved and consequently, may not be adequately prepared. This guide is a complement to the required Canadian Coast Guard, Fisheries and Oceans official publication, TP 5064 “Ice Navigation in Canadian Waters” and is intended for use by ship owners and operators, charterers, agents and senior officers of ships who seek practical information on ships' response and operation, as well as to provide a better understanding of hazards which may be encountered when crossing ice-covered waters in Eastern Canada during the winter navigation season.
