Child Car Seat Defect Investigations and Recalls

The department investigates complaints into alleged defects related to child car seat safety. When companies become aware of safety-related defects with the car seats they make, they must inform both Transport Canada and car seat owners.

Transport Canada monitors, documents and publishes all safety-related child seat recalls. The department also issues a notice to tell Canadians about any safety concerns related to children's car seats.

Remember: It is important to complete and return your child car seat owner's registration card to the manufacturer, so that they can contact you if there are any safety problems.
