Traffic Operations

Traffic professionals, designers and engineers are always on the lookout for new ways to improve road and intersection safety. Sometimes there are just too many great ideas that it's hard to pick the best – or most appropriate ones – when it comes to things like traffic signals, stop signs, roundabouts, turning lanes pavement markings (like bicycle lanes) and a variety of “traffic calming” devices. The key is to focus on priorities, or the new innovations that will provide the greatest increase in safety.
