Tanker Safety Expert Panel
We are pleased to conduct the review of Canada’s Ship source Oil Spill Preparedness and Response Regime on behalf of the Minister of Transport.
The Tanker Safety Expert Panel is pleased to announce that Phase 2 of the review has begun, which focuses on ship-source spill preparedness and response requirements in the Arctic, as well as requirements for a hazardous and noxious substances system.
Phase I of the Tanker Safety Expert Panel has been completed and their report “A Review of Canada’s Ship-source Oil Spill Preparedness and Response Regime—Setting the Course for the Future,” is now available on this website.
In addition, an abstract of the “Risk Assessment for Marine Spills in Canadian Waters – Phase 1: Oil Spills South of the 60th Parallel," which informed, in part, the Panel’s Phase I review, is also available on Transport Canada’s website.
