What is the scope of the standard?

CSA B341 sets out the requirements for the design, construction, initial inspection and testing, marking, periodic inspection and testing, and repair of UN pressure receptacles and multiple-element gas containers for the transport of dangerous goods and carried out under the approval of the Canadian authority.

Section 5.10 Means of Containment for Class 2, Gases of the TDG Regulations specifies that for the transportation of dangerous goods in Class 2 by any mode, means of containment in accordance with CSA B342 are permitted. CSA B342 invokes CSA B341 in relation to the design, construction, initial inspection and test, repair, and periodic inspection and test of UN pressure receptacles and multiple-element gas containers.

Section 1.3.1 Table of Safety Standards and Safety Requirement Documents refers to the most recently published edition of CSA B341. At this time, the 2018 edition of CSA B341 is the most recently published edition and it is the edition that is legally in force.

UN Pressure Receptacle Manufacturers

Search the TDG database for manufacturers of UN cylinder, UN tubes and UN cryogenic receptacles registered with Transport Canada to manufacture UN pressure receptacles in accordance with CSA B341.
