What is the scope of the standard?
The CSA-B622 standard sets out the requirements for selection and use, handling, filling and unloading of highway tanks, TC portable tanks, and ton containers for transportation of dangerous goods in Class 2.
Where is the standard referenced in the TDG Regulations?
Section 5.10 of the TDG Regulations specifies that a means of containment in accordance with CSA-B622 is a permitted container for the transport of dangerous goods in Class 2 (gases) by road or by ship.
How do I view the standard for free?
The CSA Group has launched an online platform that allows registered users free access to Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) safety standards published by CSA Group referenced in federal TDG regulations. When will the 2014 version of CSA-B622 come into effect?
This standard has come into effect July 12, 2017 but the regulatory amendment provides a period of transition that allows a person to comply with the 2009 standard until January 12, 2018.
