Contact manufacturer for details on required modifications for U.S. Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Mercedes-Benz Canada informed Transport Canada that ALL modifications MUST be performed (and documented) by an authorized Canadian Mercedes-Benz Retailer. Possible modifications may include: daytime running lights, electronic immobilization system [EIS], metric odometer and speedometer labels.
Some models built until September 1, 1999 are inadmissibile because they cannot be modified to meet child tether anchorage safety standard requirements. Contact Mercedes-Benz Canada at www.mercedes-benz.ca/admissibility for more information.
[EIS]: If built after September 1, 2007, must be equipped with an Electronic Immobilization System [EIS]. See explanations section, paragraphs #4 and #9 for more details.
