1.1 Access to the AMES system is a 3-step process:

  1. User ID/Password Authorization through the Access Control office.
  2. Completion of AMES training.
  3. Authorization through AARPG  (AME Licensing and &Training).

2. User ID/Password Authorization

3. AMES Training

3.1 To be granted access to AMES, Regions are required to ensure that personnel have received training appropriate to the access level being requested.  Training is to be provided, utilizing the AMES user manual (available on the AMES website), by personnel who are proficient on the system.

3.2 Request for access will not be authorized by AARPG until confirmation of training has been received.  Regions are to forward an email to AARPG (see contacts in item 3.3.) with the following information:

  1. The individuals branch/division designator (e.g. AARPG);
  2. Level of access requested (2 = modification; 3 = view only);
  3. Confirmation that appropriate training has been completed;
  4. The need for AMES access (i.e. exam invigilator, etc);
  5. The individuals employment status (indeterminate or casual/term).

Note – To retain a measure of control over the AMES user's access, individuals with casual/term status will be granted AMES authorization for a period of 6 months.  Upon completion of 6 months, the AMES system will automatically terminate access authorization.  Should the individual’s casual/term employment continue, the Supervisor is required to forward confirmation to AARPG requesting an additional 6-month access period.
