1.1 The purpose of this staff instruction is to apprise the Civil Aviation Safety Inspectors (CASI) in respect of thee procedures to follow in order to obtain reimbursement for certain fees directly associated with Technical Inspection Group (TI) competencies and qualifications requirements.
2.1 Several groups within the Public Service have a policy for reimbursement with respect of professional costs associated with their functions. In the interest of equity, Transport Canada Civil Aviation has been requested to institute a policy of reimbursement for certain costs pertaining to re-certification/license renewal fees directly associated with Maintenance & Manufacturing Technical Inspectors (TI) position requirements, in respect of AME Licensing, Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) Certification or membership in the American Society for Quality Control.of an AME License; CGSB Certification: or membership in the American Society of Quality Control. It does not include membership fees for trade type organizations or associations that are not required for eligibility for the TI classification.
3.1 In order to obtain reimbursement, the CASI shall submit a claim to his manager with the original receipt in respect of the fee paid out.
3.2 Financial responsibility rests with each region. The request may be made on any form or by any method method adopted by the responsible manager.
4. Effective date
4.1 This instruction comes into effect immediately.
