Coming into force
In accordance with Section 1.3.2 of the TDG Regulations, this newly published standard comes into force on January 31, 2020, however, stakeholders may begin transitioning to these new standards at any time before this date.
Most notable changes
The most notable changes that appear in the new edition of this standard are summarized below:
- Updated list of explosives and packing instructions to align with the 20th edition of the UN Recommendations
- Updated references to other dangerous goods container standards
- Added packing instructions for UN large packaging
- Added domestic packing instruction for jet perforating guns
- Improved usability by reorganizing the standard and incorporating updated regulatory requirements
