ADMISSIBLE FOR PARTS ONLY IMPORTATION (USING A FORM-3)
Vehicles in any condition (original state, salvage, non-repairable or flood damaged) listed as admissible in any section of the Vehicle Import Compatibility (VIC) list. Vehicles listed as inadmissible on the VIC list on the following conditions: 1- proof of certification to United States motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS) is provided, and 2- accompanied by a salvage title certificate or equivalent. NOTE: Once a vehicle is declared for "parts only" at importation, it is given a non-repairable status. The RIV reports the non-repairable status to all provincial and territorial licensing jurisdictions in Canada. This status is final and the vehicle can never be licensed in Canada. |
INADMISSIBLE FOR PARTS ONLY IMPORTATION (USING A FORM-3)
Vehicles not meeting the requirements listed in the admissible column. |
NOTES
Vehicles to be dismantled for parts are recorded at importation by having the importer complete and sign a "Vehicle imported for Parts" Form-3 at the Canadian border. The status is final once completed. Visit www.riv.ca for further details. |
